A new year….new opportunities…..new blank pages to be written upon

2018! Whether 2017 was all you wanted or whether you were happy to see the tail end a new year is upon us. I’ve already spoken to a few people who related incidents that have happened and they lamented their hope that this was not a sign of things to come. To that I share my own thoughts that yes life is ever changing and that includes moments that we’d rather not deal with. I had another ER incident the night before New Year’s Eve and although it was still 2017 I really wasn’t happy that 2018 would be anything other than MY spectacular year that I am planning. What I’ve learned over the years is that things will happen…..things will be out of my control…..and yet I have control over my reactions, my behaviors and my frame of mind and approach to all things. Trust me, I’m not always philosophical and calm about these happenings although I continue to work on these same goals. I know that I have to put in the work for myself…..like that joke of the man who asks God “Please let me win the lottery” & God’s answer is “Buy a ticket.” So, I’m buying a ticket, I’m putting in the work for want I want which is finding balance in my life and becoming the best version of myself. For me that means getting healthy in mind, body and spirit.

I’m excited to continue building my Private Practice as a counselor and my Holistic Health and Wellness Coaching business. To me they are different sides of the same coin as they are both about balance in life, health & wellness in mind, body and spirit as well as becoming your best self. My goals also include working on stepping outside my comfort zone because I have allowed myself to become stagnant in some areas of my life. I plan on spending quality time with family and friends and moving forward even if those steps are baby steps.  I will be going in the direction I want rather than allowing my fears and insecurities whether about my capabilities or my health hold me hostage.

So here is to a new year with new opportunities! We have 365 days (technically 362 days at this writing:-) to fill a whole new book of adventures. Let’s get to it.
